Vision

We believe stories affect culture. Their power to change a person while entertaining is legendary. Political candidates are elected when their story resonates with enough people. Societal norms are established, in large part, by what is presented to the culture via screen. At Glass Road, we seek to make a positive difference in the culture by developing and producing stories reflective of the human condition–and what elevates that condition. Our vision is not limited to the production of these stories, though. We also want to deliver powerful stories–fiction and nonfiction–into the marketplace in every medium possible. We’re not content with securing a publishing deal and calling it a day. We’re not happy with only producing a film. We don’t want to leave the app world on the back burner. We only acquire stories that we believe will resonate in multiple media platforms. We call it “cinematic storytelling” and “story-centric nonfiction” because, well, we like making up more than just stories around here.

Our ultimate vision is to be able to lift our heads above the day-to-day work and see an inkling of change in the culture. We envision intelligent discourse happening on the screen (remember the dinner table discussion in Woody Allen’s “Crimes and Misdemeanors“?) and social issues addressed from an informed worldview. Some might say we want to change society.

And we can’t say they’d be all wrong.
